Desert Oasis Healthcare celebrates National Home Care and Hospice Month

(October 19, 2021 – Palm Springs, CA)
Each November, the home care and hospice community honors the millions of nurses, home care aides, therapists, and social workers who make a remarkable difference for the patients and families they serve. These heroic caregivers play central roles in our health care system and in homes across the nation.

“Desert Oasis Healthcare’s Home Health Services offer skilled care at home that can help you or a loved one feel better, regain independence, and have a better quality of life after an injury, illness, or surgery,” said Nadene Turner, RN, BSN, Administrator of Patient Care Services, Home Health. Medicare-certified and recognized by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), Desert Oasis Healthcare’s Home Health Services deliver the high level of care you’d expect at a hospital in the comfort and convenience of your home.

The community recognizes the quality of Desert Oasis Healthcare (DOHC) clinical services. By community-wide vote, Home Health Services was awarded “Best of Desert 2021.” In addition, DOHC’s Immediate Care Clinics in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, and Yucca Valley have been voted Best of Desert for both 2020 and 2021.

With 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, the need for health care will continue to rise and costs increase. As the preferred choice for most patients, home care and hospice also offers the greatest cost savings. While Medicare pays nearly $2,000 per day for a typical hospital stay and $450 per day for a typical nursing home stay, home care costs less than $100 per day. This allows many U.S. seniors to remain independent at home and stay more closely connected to those they love.
