Desert Oasis Healthcare voted a Great Place to Work
(January 13, 2023 – Palm Springs, CA) “Desert Oasis Healthcare (DOHC) believes in the saying ‘Treat your employees like they make a difference … and they will,’” said Dr. Marc Hoffing, Medical Director of DOHC. “It’s so gratifying to know that our employees feel as good about us as we do about them, whether they’re on the front lines or behind the scenes. It’s wonderful to know that we continue pulling together, especially during times when they have all worked so hard to provide the protection and care our patients need.”
In 2022, DOHC also placed #18 in the Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care. As the pandemic continued changing all of our lives last year, DOHC clinical staff continued as they had for the previous two years; doing what was necessary to serve patients at locations throughout the Coachella Valley and the Greater Morongo Basin communities of the high desert. But DOHC employees also know how to have fun while providing excellent care, as demonstrated in this Halloween lunchtime photo taken at one DOHC’s “Best of Desert” Immediate Care Clinics.
“With the continuation of this once-in-a-century pandemic, each and every one of our employees has acted like a superhero, as they serve our patients,” Hoffing continued. “That’s why not a single employee at DOHC has been laid-off or furloughed during these extraordinary times.”
When surveyed, 91% of DOHC employees overall said DOHC was a Great Place to Work, compared to 57% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company. DOHC employees also provided these assessments:

- “When you join the company, you are made to feel welcome.” – 96%
- “I am given the resources and equipment to do my job.” – 94%
- “I am able to take time off from work when I think it’s necessary.” – 94%
- “When I look at what we accomplish, I feel a sense of pride.” – 94%
For three consecutive years, due to COVID-19, DOHC held its annual Employee Appreciation Banquet as a virtual event, to recognize employees’ collective work and shine a light on those who went above-and-beyond for DOHC patients. Hoffing concluded, “Our employees have never slowed in their commitment to service excellence to our patients, even with the pandemic. To me, each of them is a hero.”
