DOHC Heart Monitoring Program: Smarter Heart Care Starts Here

Your heart health is important to us. That’s why Desert Oasis Healthcare now offers advanced heart rhythm monitoring as part of our Heart Care services—combining expert care with the latest in digital health technology.

As part of our commitment to innovation, DOHC is using artificial intelligence (A.I.) and state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring tools to deliver faster, more accurate diagnoses for heart conditions like arrhythmias.

By harnessing the power of A.I., our providers can analyze detailed heart rhythm data with enhanced precision—so you get the answers you need, sooner. This easy-to-use, wearable heart monitor gives us a clearer view of how your heart is working in real time, empowering us to detect irregularities early and tailor a treatment plan just for you.

Why Were You Referred?

You may have been referred for a heart monitor if your DOHC Cardiology provider felt you were a candidate for this program. Also, recent literature has suggested that some populations of patients, like those with diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and others, might be at risk for having an arrhythmia. Therefore, DOHC is doing active outreach to these patients that qualify.

What the Monitor Is...

We use a small, discreet wearable device that records your heart rhythm continuously. It’s designed to be worn on your chest and tracks your heartbeats around the clock, even while you sleep, work, or exercise. (That’s right… you can still go play Pickleball with your friends and not even notice it!) There are no wires, and most patients find it easy to wear.

How It's Worn?

DOHC will make it easy! You’ll receive simple instructions on how to apply the device at home, or our care team can help apply it for you in the office. The monitor is water-resistant and can typically be worn for up to 14 days.

Living With The Monitor

During the monitoring period, you can go about your normal day. That’s actually what we are monitoring- your EVERYDAY! So don’t change that routine. We may have you log symptoms (like dizziness or chest pain) using an app or written diary, which helps your doctor connect those symptoms to specific moments in your heart data.

Returning the Device

When your monitoring period is done, simply follow the return instructions included with the device. Many monitors come with prepaid packaging so you can drop it off at any mailbox or arrange a pickup.

Getting Your Results

Once your device is returned, DOHC’s cardiology team will review the collected data. Your provider will then schedule a time to go over the results with you and discuss any next steps, such as medication, lifestyle changes, or additional testing if needed.
