Turn to Desert Oasis Healthcare's PHARxM™ Population Health and Prescription Management department for free health education services for our members. The classes we offer are a combination of teaching activities, fun games and some homework. Morse are composed of 4-8 week classes for 4 consecutive weeks. Most classes are 2 hours or less. Journey For Control - Diabetes Education
We’ll teach you how to control your diabetes with diet and exercise, combined with home testing and medications. Questions are encouraged, so tell us about your health. We also offer individual counseling with a Certified Diabetic Educator. *Also available in Spanish. For 1:1 Diabetes counseling, a referral is required.

1:1 Counseling
Nutrition plays an important role in controlling diabetes and our Registered Dietitian can help -- with eating disorders,nutrition-related diseases, and more. We even provide counseling to those under the age of 18.

Sweet Success/Gestational Diabetes
Diabetes is a complication that affects 7-14% of pregnant women. Our Sweet Success Program, through one-on-one counseling with a Certified Health Educator, seeks to help manage gestational diabetes, so you can have a healthy baby. The program promotes and improves pregnancy outcomes for high-risk pregnant women with pre-existing diabetes and women who develop diabetes while pregnant.

Safety is No Accident
This single session, two-hour class has a strong focus on well-being and maintaining independence. Come get the facts on fall prevention! You will learn more about risk factors for falls, tips for safety in the home, a simple exercise program (with demonstration of some of the exercises), and an introduction to other DOHC classes we offer to help improve balance and prevent a fall.

A Matter of Balance
Learn and practice ways you can prevent falls, along with strength and balance activities. Class is 2 hours, 8 sessions.

Add More To Weigh Less
In this four-week class series, you’ll learn to gradually add new behaviors and avoid the pitfalls of typical “diets.” You will learn strategies for long-term health and success at weight management in a motivating group setting. Topics include feeling full on fewer calories, support for increasing physical activity, and the relationship between sleep and body weight.

Healthy Heart, Healthy You
If you have pre-existing cardiac disease or congestive heart failure (CHF,) we’d like to teach you some preventative measures you can take to keep your heart as healthy as possible while decreasing serious future risk. Learn about risk factors for various cardiac diseases and why proper nutrition, exercise, and stress management are so important for cardiac wellness.
