About the Provider
Dr. Loren Khoury grew up locally in the desert with a love of science and a fascination with how diseases affect us. Those interests, combined with a desire to help ease suffering, inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare.
She enjoys getting to know her patients, starting with a physical exam, and developing a personalized treatment plan with them. Dr. Khoury’s belief in patient-centered care begins with careful listening and applying evidence-based medicine to provide the best care, while avoiding unnecessary testing whenever possible.
Earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California-Irvine, she went on to a Master of Public Health degree in Applied Research Epidemiology from Loma Linda University. After working in healthcare quality improvement for several years, she pursued her dream of earning a medical degree and became a Doctor of Osteopathy before residency in internal medicine at University of Minnesota.
In her spare time, Dr. Khoury enjoys reading, cooking, and exercise. She feels her best healthcare advice for her patients is to tell their symptoms to their primary care physician and trust them to do their best to determine the proper diagnosis and treatment plan, while maintaining the always-important patient-physician dialogue.
