About the Provider

Cami McChesney joins the Desert Oasis Healthcare team with over 20 years of experience, many of which were spent serving the local community. As a family nurse practitioner, Cami believes in treating her patients as “whole people, not just medical illnesses.” This philosophy stems from her personal experiences growing up, where helping her mother through health challenges sparked her passion for healthcare.

Cami’s extensive background includes nine years in critical care at JFK Memorial Hospital, seven years in adult intensive care, and two years in a high-demand emergency room setting. She also has valuable experience in family practice, where she worked for two years in intense clinical care. Her leadership skills have been honed through her roles in staff supervision and as a patient care coordinator.

Educated locally, Cami graduated with honors from College of the Desert with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and later earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Outside of work, Cami enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, endurance running, and teaching her children to cook. Married to a fireman, she and her husband have two young children and have proudly called the Coachella Valley home for over 25 years. Cami looks forward to positively impacting her patients' lives and partnering with them on their health journeys.

Enfermera familiar

Cami McChesney se incorpora al equipo de Desert Oasis Healthcare. Cuenta con más de 20 años de experiencia, muchos de ellos al servicio de la comunidad local. Como enfermera familiar, Cami es firme creyente en atender a sus pacientes como “personas completas, no sólo enfermedades médicas”. Esta filosofía surgió de sus experiencias personales durante la infancia, en que el ayudar a su madre mientras enfrentaba problemas de salud despertó su pasión por la asistencia médica.

El historial tan amplio de Cami incluye nueve años en la unidad de cuidados intensivos en el JFK Memorial Hospital, siete años en la unidad de cuidados intensivos para adultos y dos años en un entorno de urgencias bastante demandante. También cuenta con valiosa experiencia en medicina familiar, donde trabajó durante dos años en cuidados clínicos intensivos. Sus dotes de liderazgo se han perfeccionado a través de sus funciones de supervisión del personal y de coordinadora de la atención al paciente.

Formada localmente, Cami se graduó con honores del College of the Desert con un título de Asociada en Enfermería y más tarde obtuvo una maestría en Enfermería de California State University, Dominguez Hills

Fuera del trabajo, Cami disfruta pasar tiempo con su familia, hacer senderismo, carreras de resistencia y enseñar a sus hijos a cocinar. Cami está casada con un bombero, y juntos tienen dos hijos pequeños y durante más de 25 años orgullosamente han hecho del Valle de Coachella su hogar. Cami está ansiosa de tener un impacto positivo en las vidas de sus pacientes y de volverse su aliada en sus trayectorias de salud.
